Hello Special Olympics Oceanside Coaches and Volunteers,

Happy New Year to all of you and welcome back to the sport. Special Olympics BC has approved the return to most sports in January with the exception of indoor Club Fit. As with indoor fitness programs in the community, indoor Club Fit will be on hold until at least January 18. As well, schools are not opening to outdoor groups at this point. We are currently looking for another venue for Basketball. Stay tuned for more information.

Oceanside’s Club Fit will be moving outdoors to start a six-session, weekly hiking adventure. The low elevation hikes will be located either in Nanoose Bay, Parksville, or Qualicum area for a duration of 60 minutes, snack time included. Essential gear for all athletes will be water for hydration, a healthy snack, and weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. Please tuck a mask in your backpack or fanny pack in case, for any reason we have to congregate within close proximity along the trail. The hikes are 'gentle' and accessible with a lot of interesting nature to look at. The pick-up, drop-off location for each hike will be the same location, precise coordinates, and a map will be included with each hike. Family and caregivers are welcome to join!
